RighTEO!

Sixth form rock consert, this year was lucky number 13!!! so after college i went down to help out my friends. And in amongest the hiding from teachers and “working” i got roped into singing a queen song, with the guys for the final! grrrrr

twas a better back drop, better stage set out, but still i think the music let it down by last years standards. But seeing my friends and working with the guys i love for another time made my day! just wait till high school musical!
now it was a very good show, with shiney singing and good music, no one did a cover of muse thank heavens and the glow sticks added a bit more sparkle!

but hey!!!! shenstock 13!!!!! lets dance to big fish little fish eh hannah!!!

The Artisans – Basicly the Moulin Rouge school show/ Goodbye X team

Posted in Friends, School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

Right last school show…..Surely I should be used to these last things …God only knows what Proms goanna turn out like!

So two days of work at school, the joys eh! If you read my earlier blog’s you will see that my enjoyment of school only lies with being a member of the X team; so working at school for two days is fine really. Yesterday was the all day rehearsal… a day of running around for the one and only moaning director Ms Kitsiou. Not much really to be said about it now apart from the annoying seating that had to be set out and having to sit between Matt and Adam driving me insane. But we did start the “Your mum’s…. Your face’s….Your mum’s face…” running joke that has been following us around for two days now! Best one that has been said was by Piers, Peter and myself yesterday on the blocks “Your mum’s face’s has got tits!”

Today no rehearsals…but I went in anyways. I got given a wonderful present by the guys, which must have cost them a lot of money, A personalise Monopoly set with everyone’s names on and yes I cried like the unstable emotional person I am!…ha to Jordan only being worth £60 and Adam the big spender being £400! Also sat through A-level I.C.T as I seem to be doing a lot these days and a University lecture and school had finished so a quick set up and off the fish ‘n’ chicken by peters house as a much loved tradition! Where we watched clips of family guy back at Peter’s house and drunk all his coke and lemonade.

Back school we finished set up, I ran away from Jordan, as I was given his phone. And then the show! It went really well just like the night before. Only downer was…I was on lighting! And as you can also read on my other blog’s… Stage crew is my 1st love of the crews! Nice way to finish my 3 years of work on the crew that I didn’t originally join. Still remember my 1st school show. The X team scared me and I didn’t want to go back… now look!

Thank you all for the last 3 years, I can tell you now I will not be back for sixth form as I will hopefully be attending college. I will be back for odd visits though so be warned you haven’t got completely rid of me just yet. You all are amazing!

 Thank you!

Southend AirShow – Cold, Wet and full of people looking at the sky…weird eh

Posted in Friends, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

I was looking forward to this years airshow as it was my first time going, without the cadets!!! Woooo! So my first year off …. fun eh, especially after hearing the weather forecast! Rain…and lots of it. But still nothing like the Southend airshow without a bit of rain.

So I met Jordan at Shenfield station at 11 as didn’t want to get up early and go with Peter, Paul Greg and Kelly. So we get there, get lost trying to find the sea front….apparently its harder then it seems to find it. But still we meet up in good time for the show to find Paul’s gone to the nice dry Press area, so we find a bench and then start to browse the stalls, we walk passed the air cadet stall and out of 5 of us i’m the only one stopped and asked “do you want to join the air cadets?” hmmmmm seeing as I am one, i Delcine with “sorry I’m ready a cadet.” and walk on.  So we finally met Paul and find a nice spot on the grass we can sit (on coats and under umbrellas of course).

The show started at one with the RAF Sea King doing a fancy display of loading and off loading passengers into the water to save him and put him on a boat….after one showing it got boring! Then they brought out the jets, by this time the heavens had opened once more to rain on our parade but still we had more attractions to see in the sky’s. Then the Red Arrows came out….this is was the only good set entertainment for the day, with  45 minutes of taking pictures and peters, Paul’s, Jordan’s and myself hands going numb holding up phone and cameras to take photos of them, clearly Greg and Kelly had the smart idea of sitting trying to stay warm and dry.

After Jordan decide he was once again hungry, that the chips he had before where not filling enough and drags me up and down the stalls on show again to view the kiddie climbing wall and buy a bacon roll and a hot chocolate (which turned out to be coffee) and so after starring at the weapons from the army and being confussed once again as Jordan’s girlfriend (So sorry Hannah! I cant imagine what you must go through!) buy candy-floss and head back to the others so once again get cold and wet on the middle of a hill. (Oh and in finding his food i missed the Herc!)

Sooo we watched the french version of the red arrows and that was the end of the show…fun eh. We then watched (and me, Peter and Paul teased and timed) Jordan on the climbing wall. Then headed home….a long train joinery and a walk home and done and dusted for another year!

Leaving School Friday 11th May! Leaving my closest friends!

Posted in Friends, School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

“Good Luck Year 11″ Cakes lol from history

Thursday was the last full day of school. we were allowed shirts to be signed (to which i had “Property of X-team” wrote across my back!) photo were taken and all that jazz….

Friday was the big day, getting int

o school at 8am! because Dale without telling us; had volunteered the X team for the set up of the Leaver assembly. So in 3inch hill boots i tried to help and finally gave in and went to the breakfast in the refectory. More photos where taken and prom invites where handed out and breakfast was muffins and fruit with bottled water. So at 9:15 we moved over to the sports hall and started up the assembly. It started with year 11 giving a standing ovation to Mr Fairhurst the head of the school. He made a 20 minute speech. Then the fun started; we ran through the program with singers like Billy and Holly and Yasmin taking us lot from form on stage and talking about us, to reading poems. Then Mr Reynolds gave us the “best of luck speech” and played the sad spice girls music and kicked us out the hall.

I’ve never seen so many people cry in one room and be in the same year. slowly we got off the school grounds. Now myself Vicky, Matt and Solly had planned to go to lunch in Brentwood. We then added Nicole as me and her were going out that evening with the guys from sixth form; so we had a time limit. We invited Emma Q too as she is a very good friend to all of us! We waited outside the school for Matt and Solly for 10-15 minutes so me and Nicole decided we walk to mine so i could get changed as my feet were killing me; we’d then get the bus to Brentwood. Prefect timing Matt phoned me when we just getting on the bus to Brentwood. Beejal joined us and so did George for a while.

Poor Pizza Hut had 1/4 of shenfield turn up on there door step when they were short-staffed!

we then walked to the skate park for about 10minutes and then about 10 of us started to walk to Brentwood station. Me and Nicole left them and carried on walking to the station.

At shenfield we meet Adam, Jordan, Josh, Peter, Mark, WHO BUNKED A LESSON!!!! worse then me!!! tut tut tut! so we laughed and joked around and ran into Trudie and the other lot again and all bundled onto a train. The poor poor people who had most of year 11’s craziest people in the smallest space.

We went to go and see Spider-man 3! Boring or what! I could have gone to sleep! after we went again to Pizza Hut (twice in one day is tooooooo much) this was sooo funny, Jordan chatting up not 1 but 2 waitresses. One who was engaged! and him trying to pocket my phone and us lot telling Adam to keep his food down! then we walked back to the station. This was the saddest part of my day, maybe my life. Leaving this lot, well you might as well just be bipolar! I love them all terribly and I could not get any better friends, they kind and caring and I can re-lie on them for anything and I hope they know they can on me. I’d give my life for anyone of these lot! So trying to stop my water-works served impossible! and the rain made it worse! I got make-up all over Jordan’s designer shirt and Adam and Mark attacked my arse with the Kleenex tissues. This made it all the harder to leave them, know I will never have another wonderful lunch time full of laughs or a missed P.E lesson, or maybe a day off lessons for a set-up. Why i’m leaving them for college next year is a question I frequently ask myself. But we got on the train and I got home. Only to plan the next day I was travelling to Ongar too see them again!

I love you all so so much! I cannot thank you all enough for everything you have done for me. You are the best friends i have ever had and you all made the X-team, and coming to school the highlight of my days! The last 3 years have been amazing especially year 11’s lunch times. If I had the chance to stay I’d be grabbing it! Your all amazing!

Arcola!!! Show & Tell done!!!

Posted in Friends, School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

I can not believe it! We arrived at school at 1pm so we could put finishing touches on the door me and Adam spent all of Friday building!!! (yes it took ages to build a frame and door) so when the couch arrived at 2 we with great difficulty loaded the door onto the underneath of the couch and the rest, X team got the back of the couch and we were off!

We got to the Arcola around 3:30 and unload the props into the cafe and waited 45Min’s for the last show to finish and get out. We then carried the props (THE HEAVY DOOR) into the studio, i took one look at the stage and wanted to scream! we were have 3 sets of audeince’s around us, no proper back stage area and it was a crap hole! I could have cried! But still some stupid person once said “The Show Must Go On”, clearly they had not seen the Arcola!!!

We moved the wings to the back of the stage for the stage crew, hung the set over them. I almost fell off the ladder which Josh and Adam saved me! we then did a tech run through and set out where the mice were to be pulled from. And I still hated it, I promise the lighting and sound if things went wrong i would not be coming back. I then rung the one person who would laugh at this so much. Jordan. To which he in a very unconvincing tone wished us all luck.

Then we started the show……I couldn’t fault it! not once! The actors didn’t get there lines right but they were in the right place *ish* and the props worked well. THE DOOR DIDN’T BREAK! but Matt smith couldn’t work it! So there went my promise of i’ll leave if it goes wrong, just when I had a chance of getting out!!! :P

We packed up, and loaded the props onto the coach, which really annoyed the X as the actors just moved us, from our seats while we packed up THEIR show. we sat on the coach, ate bags of crisps and took photos, i rung Jordan again to tell him how it went….AND WE MISSED DR. WHO!!!

Door that caused so much trouble!

Show and Tell – DEADLINE APPROACHING

Posted in School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

Right, revision? Search for Billy Lair book? Write a blog? You can guess what one I picked cant you! And if you obstinate like many of my friends and would make a comment here i.e Jordan! I picked writing a blog!

So the school had a play written for them called “Show and Tell”. This play was to be preformed at school in front of some weird competition people…All I remember is on the day rehearsals I spent most part of the day helping build a door with Peter, Josh and Jordan…..Not fun! We did the show and after many injuries (fishing wire through my hand, Adam smacking himself with a hammer, Jordan grazing his knuckles and josh cutting his finger open) The show went………..Crap like normal, the lighting ques where missed a extra scene was added, the actors got the lines wrong and it just generally went to pots…..We still got through to the next stage were we got a do the same show again at the Arcola Theater in Shorditch, London! HOW?!?! I hear you ask?! I have no idea!!!

This Saturday is when the show is to be shown to people of the National Theater company! Isn’t it going to be sooo much fun! Not! We suffered an hour and a half run through of “show and tell” seeing as it had not been run since the show! And Oh My Word this show is never going to be ready and shiny like the director wants by Saturday!

We are screwed!!! completely and utterly!

Right now to find a Billy Lair book before tomorrow!

My X team!

Posted in Friends, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

Right I’m writing this to save me from my English homework….so Jordan no telling me i’m being emotional for no reason! :P

I love these lot they are my best friends and I cant believe I’m leaving them next year! although I’ve been told I’m to be locked in the lighting cupboard… scary trust me! I’ve known them 3 years now; yet it seems like a life time. I can tell Adam and Jordan anything and I know they are looking out for me and I can talk to them anytime, day or night!!!Peter and Paul are really good for laughs! I’m always smiling with them around, and whenever I’m upset i can bet on one of these two to make me laugh at some joke about dales sexuality or something. Josh is always fun to laugh with or about in my case, hes great because he’ll laugh at anything even if its at his expense but hes great to work with on stage too and knows all about computers!

I gonna miss you lot so so much! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Easter concert

Posted in Friends, School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

Well knowing that when I return to school I only have the so called 4 “precious” weeks left… So that means because I work on the X team at school this turned out to be my last Easter concert….boohoo….but yes make the most of it.

So last concert…what to do apart from having incriminating photos and videos of me and
Jordan being published on his blog and youtube, we listen to music and finished the set up Wednesday night. Thursday morning bright and early outside the school hall to get crushed by the out coming assembly and in to start the all day rehearsals. Soooo oh my word this was the longest day of rehearsals ever! They went so…o…o…o… slow, but we got through them, by fixing a new set of curtains to the racks, sweeping the stage, sitting on our arses doing nothing all day and Oh don’t forget taking the 6 music stands on and off stage millions of times. 3rd and 4th lesson left me, Jordan and Scott sitting on the stairs talking about who-knows-what between the acts.

Then the show….Tada! Was funny! Half the stage crew (Josh, Mark and me) walked to the other side to talk to Jordan and Scott. Scott was chatting up a musician. The 6th formers were hiding from their old friend and then I hurt my back on the radiator thinking a song had ended when it hadn’t lol fun.  Jordan and I also tried to salsa dance which worked well till I burst into laughter. And then I cried as it hit me that I do not have another Easter concert at school with these guys! And then we finished the HarryBo’s and packed up and went home!!!!  Now wasn’t that just sooooooo interesting! …

The Hats!!!

Monster that ate 3B

Posted in Friends, School, X-team at 13:01 by Joanne Crotty

Well what can I say!

The cast have had enough rehearsals; stage, lighting and sounds
were only given one script. Hmmmm what could go right from that?!

Oh and we were told to build the props in a week! Yet we did it!

the first performance was in the afternoon of the all day rehearsals.

And Saturday before we had another day rehearsals. So the crews

were sort of happy, till the afternoon show to the year 6 classes. The

director Miss Kitzo gave the cast morning rehearsals….slowest 3 and

half hours of my life! Now in my words the second one though went

okay, but no according to the Director (what does she know) nothing

went right so at lunch she sat all the crews down and pointed out all

mistakes and cues missed by stage lighting and sound. I didn’t care

to listen to much detail as I had to hang over the stairs 2 meters high

….I’m afraid of the most stupid heights. Pathetic really.  So I started

to pay attention when she decides to cut the stage crew down to 3 people which is physically impossible! So 5 minutes before the show me, Peter and Josh start to beg the Drama assistant if we could have Jordan and Mark back on the crews. Outcome the show worked very well, because we had 5 stage members!!!  Giving us 20minutes to do nothing to which lead to me and Jordan trying to find his black shirt as we all had to change into the new X team t-shirts saying on the back in bright yellow writing “X TEAM TECH CREW” now this would be okay if the shirts were black. But hey one way to miss lessons!
